1993 mysterious records of mind bending electronic echoes, in length and structures, started to emerge from Berlin.

Plain sleeved records with enigmatic graphics pressed in Detroit, but made in Germany by two guys from Berlin who weren’t so keen about showcasing their physique, but rather focused on the music.

Basic channel and Moritz von Oswald took techno music to a degree in a variety of shapes that encompassed dub, ambient, downtempo, techno and basically crafted minimal techno de facto.

Mr. von Oswald aimed towards face eating repetition and stretching the groove into a place that opened a rich and vast new territory in music for the dance floor and sound textures that were and still are unique.

It’s like Lee Perry would stretch his legs in warm bath with nothing but sequencers and TB 303 for company.
Using the mixing board as a tool like his Jamaican nemesis, von Oswald swiftly emerged as the quintessential post-modern artist : collaboration were spawned with Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Nills Petter Molvaer and so on.
The holy grail of techno music. Pure class, heavenly remixes and blissful dubby basslines.

Dedicated to Mr Oswald and Mark Ernestus as well.

Originally the Yorkshire pudding was served as a first course with thick gravy to dull the appetite with the low-cost ingredients so that the diners would not eat so much of the more expensive meat in the next course

The Ultimate Yorkshire Pudding “Them 'at eats t'most pudding gets t'most meat”

Ingredients
2 heaped serving spoons of flour
2 eggs at room temperature
Milk to a thin batter
2 tbsp beef dripping
salt
Whisk like mad to get plenty of air into batter leave to rest in fridge to get nice and Cold
Secret Ingredient
as my Grandmother showed me many moons ago put a handful of
Snow to get very cold before putting into very hot smoking baking tin with the beef dripping.
Place in oven
Do not open for 30 mins or so or else flat puddings

Unfortunately No snow today :)

The pudding would have originally been cooked beneath the meat (usually beef) roasting on a spit above a fire.

This position would have meant that the fats and juices from the meat could drip onto the batter pudding, flavouring and adding colour. (The initial name for cooking a batter in this way was “Dripping Pudding”.)

This also meant that these drippings, essential in the diet, particularly for working men, were utilised rather than lost to the fire.

Sources of these essential fats, particularly in the North of England, were more difficult to obtain at that time, especially with the cost of meat, so every drop that could be used, was.

Lemon Zest can spice up your life fitting for a word that we learned from the world of cooking.

Lemon Zest can spice up your life fitting for a word that we learned from the world of cooking.

We borrowed the term from a source that has given English speakers many culinary delights: French cuisine.
The French used the form zest (nowadays they spell it zeste) to refer to orange or lemon peel used to flavor food or drinks.

English speakers developed a taste for the fruit flavouring and adopted the term zest in the late 1600s.

By the early 1700s, they had started using the word to refer to any quality that adds enjoyment to something in the same way that the zest of an orange or lemon adds flavour to food.

Remove just the thin, coloured skin, or zest, of the fruit. Always leave behind the soft, white pith that lies underneath.

The pith has a bitter, unappealing taste that you simply don't want to include.
